Our Hotels in Stow-on-the-Wold

Coming from hospitality backgrounds, we bought The Grapevine Hotel in 2003, moving from Kent to make the beautiful town of Stow-on-the-Wold our home and the location for our business.
 

We immediately embarked on a sympathetic programme of renovation and refurbishment, bringing a subtle, contemporary twist to the traditional Cotswold look and feel of the hotel. The hotel has a total of 22 individually styled bedrooms offering a fabulous mix of décor, size and ambiance. All rooms are en-suite and have a writing desk, hairdryer, TV, radio, direct dial telephone and free wireless internet access.

In addition to the bedrooms, The Grapevine has an AA rosette awarded fine dining restaurant, located within the hotel’s Conservatory and shaded by its century old Black Hamburg grapevine. Literally Italian for ‘the Grapevine’, La Vigna, is the hotel’s bistro, which uses the same chefs and fresh ingredients as in the Conservatory Restaurant, but offers a less formal dining experience. 

Attached to The Grapevine is the Gigot Bar offering a traditional English pub ambiance and delicious light snacks and bar meals.

After running The Grapevine for a number of years, in 2007 we purchased The Royalist Hotel, which is situated just across the road from The Grapevine on Digbeth Street. Smaller than The Grapevine with 14 individually designed bedrooms, The Royalist Hotel offers our guests a more intimate and luxury atmosphere – ideally suited for couples wanting a romantic getaway in the Cotswolds.

The Royalist Hotel is thought to be the old inn in England with part of the hotel carbon-dated to 947AD, which is how our fine-dining restaurant derives its name. The 947AD Restaurant has been awarded two AA rosettes for the quality of its food, serving the very best in contemporary fine dining.

Connected to the hotel is our equally historic pub, the Eagle & Child. Offering a more informal dining experience than the 947AD Restaurant, the menus use the same ingredients which has been sourced locally within 20 miles of the hotel whenever possible.
